2. Categories of Personal Data Collected
Depending on your interaction with our directory services, we collect data in several ways:
- Direct Inquiries & Contact Forms: Full name, email address, inquiry topic, message body, and optional property affiliation if submitting a hostel review application.
- Automated Telemetry & Device Data: Anonymized IP addresses, browser fingerprint metadata, device operating system version, HTTP referrers, and approximate geographic location (country/city level).
- Cookie & Local Storage Preferences: Technical session tokens and user preference records stored via the browser's
localStorageAPI to prevent repetitive consent displays.
3. Legal Basis for Processing under GDPR
We process personal data solely in accordance with Article 6 of the GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Explicit consent provided when opting in to optional non-essential analytics tracking or submitting voluntary communication forms.
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Maintaining server network defense, mitigating automated denial-of-service (DoS) attempts, and diagnosing application performance bugs across diverse client devices.
4. Data Retention Periods & Storage Security
We do not maintain permanent user accounts. Inquiries submitted via our contact terminal are retained in an encrypted archival repository for no longer than twenty-four (24) months for audit and customer resolution purposes, after which they are permanently expunged. Server access logs are automatically rotated and purged every thirty (30) calendar days.
